My Impressions of Window Eyes 8

So far, the experience has been fairly good with Window Eyes 8.0. I like that it's accessible with Aria, and that there is an auto browse mode feature. I think the only problem I have is that the auto browse mode only works when you press the tab key into an edit box or a combo box, and I feel that it should also work when using the arrow keys as well. Other than that, Window Eyes is very responsive and handles things quite well. Any other thoughts and impressions?

I have yet to try it, but I've heard that GW Micro have upped the game a lot!

Hi, what about Jaws?

I've never tried Window Eyes so I'm not judging GW Micro. I'm sure Window Eyes is good.

My question is, all the representatives at the state say how bad Win 8 is. Is it really that bad, or is the state and V/R just not liking change?
Nathan.

Your state isn't going to take the change without a fight. They're trying to diss them, the companies, and try to bring your opinions down, so you'll forever remain in their clutches.

I'm using win eyes 7.5 right now, and it's horrible with microsoft word. How have yall found win 8 to be with ms word? any better? or does it still do that obnoxious stuff where you arrow down and it gives you an error and doesn't read?

That auto browse mode thing is the only feature I really could say I liked in the newer versions of JFW. As for me, I really haven't had any problems with Wineyes 7.5 and Word, though maybe I don't have the latest version of Word. It's the 2007 edition so I may be behind. But it's worked for me so far.
